What It Is
Cross-Functional Dependencies maps which teams depend on which, where handoffs happen, and where coordination is most fragile. It’s the relationship layer on top of the org chart: not who reports to whom, but who needs what from whom.
Why It Matters
Cross-functional programs break at the seams between teams, not within them. The dependency map identifies those seams early so handoffs can be designed rather than discovered. It also reveals bottleneck teams (the ones every other workstream is waiting on).
