What It Is
Role Charters define what each role in the program is responsible for, accountable to, and empowered to decide. They go beyond job descriptions to specify how each role operates within the program’s governance model and operating rhythm.
Why It Matters
Roles without charters create overlap, gaps, and frustration. When everyone is “responsible” for quality, nobody owns it; when escalation authority is undefined, workstream leads either over-escalate or make calls they shouldn’t. Role Charters eliminate that ambiguity so people can focus on execution.
